With years of experience throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries and am the proprietor of Gary Phillips Hunting Safaris. When I hunt I mean business! I pride myself with one of the largest collections of over 50” Eastern Cape Kudu. I am very honoured to be associated with the PH’s below as they are respected childhood family friends.
Here is a man who eats, sleeps and breathes hunting. His passion for the sport is infectious and his jovial nature will see you delight in in many a pub tale. He is one of the most experienced PH’s in South Africa and over 350 happy clients under his belt. Greg is a married father of a son and daughter.
Ed is currently ranching sheep and cattle in the Stormberg Mountains and will be assisting us when possible. He has been guiding clients since 1997 and is very well liked and respected by clients and peers alike. Ed is married and has 3 daughters.
“Cowboy” to everyone who knows him, is a proud family man and married with 2 daughters. He also ranches in the Stormberg. He has been a PH from 1998. This man is a perfectionist and does not settle for anything less – ask any of his past clients.
John has been hunting professionally since the age of 21. He is regarded by most as one of the best. He is particularly passionate about bow hunting, pulling a 95 pound bow, and specialises in Eastern Cape forest animals.

This was my first trip to Africa. Gary was an outstanding guide and worked hard at getting some great trophies. This will certainly not be my last.

My husband and I along with my daughter and her two children recently spent two weeks at Gary’s lodge. The accommodations and food and drink and staff were superb, and we took full advantage of many of the activities offered including great game drives nearly every day, a round of golf, a couple of shopping trips, a trip to Addo Elephant Park, and of course elephant-riding. My grandson even tried his hand at hunting for the first time, getting a springbok and missing a warthog. It could not have been a more satisfying experience, and we will definitely book another stay at the lodge in the future.
Awesome Experience. Got once in a lifetime chance at Lynx and Bushpig, trophy animals everywhere. Got to spot at night for springhare with a .22 which was fun. Staff put in a lot of time and effort to make the bushpig happen. Wonderful accommodation, we never waited for anything. Gary did a great job and was very patient. We could not have asked for a better honeymoon. Thanks for everything. we will be back.

This was our third hunt back with Gary. The sable was the highlight of our trip! Having the opportunity to hunt a lechwe was completely unexpected and very enjoyable. Looking forward to our return.
